Exterior Painting That Protects and Transforms

The outside of your property takes a beating from the British weather. Rain, wind, UV, frost. Without proper maintenance, paintwork deteriorates, timber rots, and render cracks.

At PaintMaster Decorating, we use high-quality exterior paints and coatings designed to withstand the Norfolk climate. Proper preparation, the right products, and a professional application mean your exterior paintwork will look great and last for years.

Repainted rendered exterior wall on an exposed Norfolk property

What We Paint

Render on Exposed Elevations

Norfolk is flat and open, so walls take weather from directions they would be sheltered from elsewhere. Cracks get found and filled before anything is coated, or the next winter puts water straight behind the paint.

Fascias, Soffits & Guttering

The first thing to go on a coastal property and the easiest to ignore until timber starts to soften. Sanded back, primed and coated properly.

Timber Doors & Window Frames

Older county housing stock is full of good timber joinery worth saving. Stripped, sanded, filled, primed and painted rather than ripped out for plastic.

Fences & Garden Walls

Salt-laden wind is hard on boundary timber. Stain or paint chosen for how exposed the run actually is, not just what looks right in the tin.

Decking

Damp and shade make decking slippery long before it looks worn. Specialist deck coatings with non-slip finishes available.

Outbuildings & Garden Rooms

Sheds, garages, summerhouses and garden offices. Often the most exposed structure on the plot and the least protected.

The Right Paint for the Job

Different surfaces need different products.

Exposure Changes Everything in This County

There is very little high ground in Norfolk and not much shelter. A property at Winterton or Cromer takes salt and wind-driven rain off the North Sea; the same house at Wymondham or Diss is dealing mostly with sun and frost. Both need painting. They do not need the same specification.

That is the part worth getting right, because coating failure on an exposed elevation almost always traces back to preparation or the wrong product rather than the weather itself. We look at which way the wall faces and how open it is before quoting anything.

Timing matters too. April to October, in dry conditions above 5°C, is the working window. We schedule around the forecast rather than starting a wall we cannot finish properly.

Coastal and exposed rural properties are the ones we get asked about most.

Closer to the coast? We are based in Bradwell, near Great Yarmouth.
